A potluck meal will follow the service beginning at 6 pm.  Visitors are welcome.
Martin Luther is the founder of what today is known as the Lutheran church.  The date usually seen as the beginning of the reform of the church is October 31, 1517 in which Luther published 95 statements or theses for debate regarding the church practice of selling indulgences.  This date and the following purification of Biblica doctrine and practice in the re-organized church are remembered yearly by special services and festivals in the Lutheran church as a special thankgiving to God for bringing back the clear teaching of Christ crucified as the complete payment of sins for mankind and salvation through the cross alone.
