Welcome to the first post of Pastor's Message.

March 13, is the first Sunday in Lent 2011.  Lent is part of a very old church tradition which is a season in the church year in which the final days of Jesus ministry are remembered, especially his suffering and death on the cross.  The six weeks of Lent culminate with Good Friday, the day which focuses on the death of Jesus.  The Sunday following Good Friday is Easter, the high point of the church year which celebrates the resurrection of Jesus from the dead.  Jesus died for our sins.  He was the sinless man who was also truly God.  His perfect, sinless life and innocent suffering and death were done so he could be our substitute on judgement day.  In Christ, we have now been declared innocent of sin and able to live in heaven for eternity with our God.

This is truly good news.
